BAND OF HOPE

A HAPPY PARTY

Mrs. Sired presided at a meeting of the Aro Street Mission Band of Hope.

Mrs. Andrew gave out the prizes gained in the temperance examination, for which Miss Freeman had held a special class, and in doing so congratulated the children. A hearty vote of thanks was given to Mr. Andrew for all his help during the year. Willing helpers entered with zest into the games, and then the happy boys and girls sat down to a supper presided, over by Mrs. Morrisby. Among the visitors was Mrs. Israel (president of the Wellington Central W.C.T.U.), who made a cheerful speech. In appreciation of the work of the president and secretary, Miss Freeman presented them each with a box of stationery.
