CONCERT FOR PATIENTS «

A concert given by the ladies' committee of the Kilbirnie auxiliary cf the R.S.A. attracted a large attendance. Those who contributed to' a well-balanced programme were: The Welsh Choir (under the leadership of Mrs. Thompson), Mrs. McLeod (vocal solos), Miss E. Gibson (the blind violinist), Mrs. Willman (solos), Mrs. H. Bacon (solos), and Messrs. G. F. East and H. Tahiwi (vocal items), Mr. (5. Thomas (piano accordion). The members of the ladies' committee staged two playettes. Those taking part in the performances were Mesdames H. Q. Bruce, H. M. Harris, J. McClatchey, J. Wlckens, and H. Bacon. Miss Bowman was the accompanist. Mr. D. Gunn (chairman of the auxiliary committee) thanked all those who had contributed, and stated that the entire proceeds without any deductions would be devoted to exsoldier patients at Porirua Hospital.
