A ROLL OF NOTES

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

NEW PLYMOUTH, October 26

Allegations that he picked up a roll of notes worth £173 from the floor of the waterside workers' hall at New Plymouth were made against William Henry Moseley, aged 30, a married waterside worker, when he was charged with theft in the Magistrate's Court today.

The evidence not having been completed tonight, Moseley.was admitted to bail in his own recognisance'of £100 to appear again on Friday.

Waterside workers who had not received a call assembled in the hall at the port on the morning of Saturday, October 1, and according to witnesses some of them played a game known as "spinning the top." Among those who took part was John Edward Shore, and it was he who dropped the notes. Two of those present said today that 'they saw Moseley pick them, up and put them in his pocket.
