SUCCESSFUL FINALE

E.S.U. BRIDGE CIRCLE

Fragrant lilac mingling with palms in the English-speaking Union rooms last night made a lovely background for members of the union's bridge circle, who had made up tables for the last time this year. There were well over 100 players at the party, which concluded a most successful season. Auction and contract bridge were played by their various enthusiasts, and attractive prizes were presented by the bridge circle's convener, Mrs. Sydney Vine, whose graceful hostess gown was of crinkle crepe in a larkspur blue shade. The prize-winners were Mrs. Aston (contract), Mrs. Parkhouse (auction), Mrs. Sugden (hidden number), Mr. Warner (gentlemen's prize), Mrs. Bright and Mr. Waugh (consolation prizes). Among those who made up tables were Mesdames M. Clapham, S. Wheeler, Digby Perrett, J. Southward, A Duncan, Parkhouse, Reynolds, Waugh, Irvine, Searle, McMurtree,

Castle, Warner, J. S. Vinsen, Murphy, Wickens, Williams, Tipper, Harris, Spence, Colly, Wheelan, Flowers, and Misses Hume, Gaynor, Adams, Hyams.
