Mr. and Mrs. Derek Gould, Christchurch, who were guests at Government House during race week, returned to Christchurch yesterday morning. Mr. and Mrs. George Mitchell, Blenheim, are making a tour of the South Island. Miss Joan Rhodes, who has been spending a. holiday with Mrs. Came Bidwill, Featherston, has returned to Wellington. ; Miss Sylvia Scott, Christchurch, who has been a guest at Government House, will make a short visit to Mrs. David Allan, Bolton Street, before returning home. Miss Joyce Moodie, Masterton, is visiting Miss Barbara Joyce Phelan, Oriental Bay. Mrs. George Gould and Miss Barbara Gould, Christchurch, who came up for the races, have returned to their home in Fendalton. Mrs. T. H. Wood, Masterton, who has : been touring in England and the Continent, returned to Wellington by the Port Townsville, and is the guest of her son, Mr. Douglas Wood, and Mrs. Wood, Karori. Miss Sheila Macdonald, Christchurch, who, with Mr. Michael Macdonald, has been visiting Mrs. Dan Riddiford, Featherston, returned to the South Island yesterday. Mrs. C. B. Pepper, Wellington, is visiting her sister-in-law, Mrs. Lan McIntyre, Wanganui. Miss Judy Fullerton-Smith, Marton.. who has been a guest at Government House for the spring meeting at Trentham, has returned home. Mrs. Alister Dearf j, Darfield, who has been making a short visit to Mrs. Hobbs, Lower Hutt, has returned south. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hempton, who have been visiting Wellington, have returned to Rotorua. They were accompanied by Miss Moya Hempton, who will spend a holiday with them.Mrs. T. S. Critchley, Blenheim, is visiting Wellington. Miss Pat Murphy has returned to Wellington after a short visit to her mother, Mrs. J. P. Murphy, Riverlea, Hawera. Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Gusscott, Kelburn, have left for Auckland to join the Aorangi on November. 1 for Honolulu. Mrs. R. J. O'Def, Hawera, who has! been visiting Wellington, has returned home. Mrs. Cecily Tabor-Gregory, Napier, who has been in Blenheim for the last month producing "The Belle of New York" for the local amateur operatic society, spent the weekend as the guest of Mrs. M. Kavanagh, Palmer Street. Miss Betty Hoffes Palmerston North, who has been staying with Mrs. Riddick, Karori, and who attended the races with Mr. and Mrs. Peter O'Rourke, Karori, has returned home. Mrs. W. A. Parton, Wellington, is visiting Hawke's Bay and Taranaki, and will be away a fortnight. Mrs. L y H. C. Smith is the guest of her daughter. Mrs. Meredith Hulton, Hawker Street. Mrs. W. Masset (Christchurch) and Mrs. H. Haig (Blenheim) are guests at the Grand Hotel. Mesdames W. S. Thompson (Taupiri), W- A. Ward (Broome, Western Australia), L. Knowles (Masterton), A. W. Bogle (Wanganui), R, A. Johnston and Miss G. Johnston (Woodville) are staying at the Empire Hotel. , Mrs. E. Ryce-Jones (Auckland), Mrs. J. Scott and Miss Betty Scott (Sydney) are. among the guests at the Hotel St. George.
Mrs. L. B. Thompson (Christchurch) is visiting Wellington, and, is staying at the Royal Oak Hotel.
