Edwin Harris, distinguished Dickensian, has died in Kent, the setting for many episodes in the novelist's stor-

Mr. Harris .was official guide for twenty-five years to "Dickensland," in and around Rochester. He retired last December when the interior of Dickens-'s London home at 48 Doughty Street was restored so that it was furnished in a fashion similar to the way it was in the author's time. H- made it his habit every Christmas to visit the Watts Charity in High Street, London. There he read "The Christmas Carol" to the poor travellers as they ate their Christmas supr per.
