PROF SCOTTSBERG'S LECTURE

An opportunity of gaining interesting information on the past association of New Zealand with other lands, will be given tonight when Professor Carl Scottsberg will lecture in Wellington. Professor Scottsberg is director of the famous Botanic Gardens. Gothenberg, Sweden. He has travelled widely, especially in the Southern Hemisphere, and he is an outstanding authority on plant geography. He is especially interested in the significance of plant distribution in South America and its outlying islands, especially Juan Fernandez, in relation to distribution in New Zealand, the sub-Antarctic islands and the lands of the Pacific basin generally Professor Scottsberg is visiting New Zealand at the invitation of the New Zealand University, Victoria University College, and the Royal Society of New Zealand. The lecture is open to the public. Professor Scottsberg speaks English fluently and is a favourite with English audiences. The lecture will be given in Room C 3 of Victoria University College at 8 p.m.
