(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, October 22. Fine, warm weather favoured the opening day of the Auckland Trotting Club's Spring Meeting at Epsom today. The attendance was 10,000. The track was fast. The totalisator put through £33,298 10s, compared with £26,853 last year, an increase of £6445 10s. Results:—

Passing the stand the second time Proletarian and Crocus together headed Great Chum and Navy Blue together, and this four were still in charge at the straight entrance. Noble Prince, then fifth, made a fast run On the outside to catch Navy Blue 60 yards from home and win by half a length, with Proletarian threequarters of a length away.
