Miss Sheila Macdonald, Christchurch, is visiting Wellington for the races, and attended the ball at Government House last night. She will visit Mrs. Dan Riddiford, Featherston, before returning south.
Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Norman, Masterton, returned by the Rangitiki on Thursday.
Mrs. Harold Greenwood, North Canterbury, arrived at Wellington yesterday for the races.
Miss Suzanne Collins, Featherston, who won the golf championship at New Plymouth, was guest of honour at a dinner given for her by her mother, Mrs. D.. C. Collins, at the Criterion Hotel on Thursday. Miss Collins arrived at Wellington yesterday.
Mr. and Mrs. R. Keith Taylor, Wellington, who have spent the last three months in America, are leaving by the Queen Mary for England, where they will stay some months before returning to New Zealand.
Mrs. David Crombie, Newman Terrace, who was the guest of Mrs. Russell Matthews for the golf tournament at New Plymouth, returned to Wellington yesterday.
Mrs. T. K. S. Sidey, Dunedin, is the guest of her mother, Mrs. H. R. Thomas, Kelburn.
Miss Barbara Greenwood, Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs. Cheviot Bell, Lowry Bay, for the Spring Meeting at Trentham.
Mrs. Russell Grace, Wanganui, who visited New Plymouth for the golf championships, has returned home.
' Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert King and Miss Diana King, Karori, left for Foxton this morning to attend the wedding of Miss Rita Thane and Mr. Brian Collins, which took place this afternoon. Miss M. Baker and Miss J. Holland, Palmerston North, who have been visiting Wellington, have returned home.
Mrs. M. Hyde, Palmer Street, is spending a few days in Blenheim. The Misses Rose and Eva Hutton, Christchurch, with Mr. George Hutton, arrived at Wellington by the interisland steamer yesterday and attended the Government House ball in the evening.
Miss Gwen Pither, Masterton, who has been spending a holiday in Wellington, returned home early In the week.
• Mrs. R. Lewis, who visited New Plymouth for the golf championships, returned to Wellington yesterday.
Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Wilding, Christchurch, arrived yesterday for a short visit to Wellington, and are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Cooke.
