"I should say that this year will be a-record one in the addition to the capital value of the borough," said the Mayor, Mr. H. A. Anderson, at a meeting of the Mount Albert Borough Council last night, when referring to building permits issued in the borough, reports today's "New Zealand Herald."
■■'The;;town clerk, Mr. T. R. Congalton, reported that for the three weeks ended October 13 a total of twelve permits for buildings to the value of £3197 had b<2en issued. These figures included three houses costing £2948. In addition six permits had been recorded for the*, erection of Government' houses costing £7160;
The total Government house contracts up to the present time comprised 73 - single-unit structures costing £80,898 and eight double-unit structures costing £14,219, a total of 81 structures costing £95,117.
