LOCAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The final bouts in the Wellington junior and novice wrestling championships were held in the Rex Hall, Kilbirnie, last night, under the auspices of the Wellington Wrestling Association. A satisfactory crowd attended and the wrestling for the most part was of a high standard.

Junior Finals:—7Blb class: J. Henderson (P.), 781b, beat D. Morton (K.), 741b, by one fall. 851b class: R. Carr (K.), 841b, beat M. Churchward (X.>, 851b, by one fall. 931b class: D. Rigarlsford (K.), 911b, beat W. Peterson (K.), 901b, by one fall. 1021b class: T. Maddock (K.), 1001b, beat C. Maskill (K.), 981b, by one fall. 1121b class: J. Prestney (K.), 1121b, beat R. In a match to decide the runner-up, L, Ims (Kool.), 1181b. beat P. Simpson (H.), 1181b, by one fall. 1341b class: H. Wood (Kool,), 1341b, beat P. Adams (Kool.), 1321b, by one fall. 1451b class: J. Johnson (Kool.), 1451b, beat E. Twohill (K.), 1401b, by one fall. 1581b class: M. Bell (Kool.), 1581b, beat M. Chevin (P.), 1501b, by one fall. 1741b class: W. M. Burroughs (Kool.), 1731b, beat J. McCarthy (Kool.), 1731b, by one fall. 1911b class: C. Molloy won unopposed.
Heavyweight:— E. Tuck (Kool.), 14st, beat S. Williams (Kool.), 16st 91b, by one fall.
Two Kilbirnie ladder matches for the C. McDonald Cups resulted as follows:—
6st 51b class: W. Peterson (Bst 51b) beat D. Morton (sst 41b). 7st class: C. Maskill (7st) beat J. Phillips (6st 61b).
W. Peterson was awarded a silver medal, presented by Miss Margaret Oates, for the most scientific junior. Mr. J. R. Thompson refereed the bouts.
A fracture of the right thigh was suffered by Mrs. R. Bowman, 18 Brunswick Street, Lower Hutt, when she fell off a chair at her home yesterday afternoon. She was taken to hospital by the free Ambulance,
