MAKES THE TRIP
NAUGHTY MARIETTA FIT
(Special from "Limited.")
HAWERA, October 11
Naughty Marietta accompanied Silvanus, Race Call, and Filbert to Masterton, where she is engaged in the distance hack race on Thursday. The Resinous mare left in tip-top order, and her recent track work suggests that she is worthy of serious consideration. Race Call will be all the better for his first day's race. Notium continues to display impressive form in his track gallops. He is" particularly well _at present. One Whetu is standing up to his preparation so far. This morning he finished in front of Kokako, who conceded him a start and considerable weight in a gallop over half a. mile.Friesland shaded his stablemate Lickem at the end of five furlongs, but showed signs of soreness after coolingout. Race-Boy is quite recovered from his recent indisposition, and he galloepd well this morning. He is likely to make his debut over hurdles- at Waverley. ..'{,- The Bronze Eagle ■ three-year-old. Dark Eagle and his contemporary Lord Cavendish are performing satisfactory track work, and can be ticked off as- ! likely to run prominently at Trentham.
Lady Kyra, who is to contest the Waverley Cup, has improved since coming to Hawera, and this morning went attractively over six furlongs.
