INDOOR BOWLS
SEASON CLOSED
Saturday was the final day at the indoor bowling green, which is closing down for the summer months. At afternoon tea Mr. J. Kober, on behalf of the afternoon players, thanked Mr. A. Priddle for the good service he had rendered to bowlers in providing the indoor green where they all enjoyed themselves so much during the winter months, and to Mrs. Priddle for her untiring efforts in providing for their wants at afternoon tea.
Mr. Priddle said it was their pleasure to see so many derive enjoyment from the game and thanked them for their kind remarks and good wishes. The following are results of games played:— E. Koss, Cooper, Conder, Sucker, 20; Overend, Kober, Hastings, Gauntlett, 16. Winter, Spear, Fraser, Wilson, 23; Green, Edwards, Falconer, McKenzie, 19. Moult, Norrie, Sands, Munro, 20; Smith. Christensen, J. Ross, Stonebanks, 20. C. Watts, Rankine, Ramsay, H. Watts, 22; Farrant, Bryce, Estall, Dixon, 15. Denhard, Salmon, F. Matthews, Fletcher, 22; Russell. W. Matthews, Davidson, Fownes, 21. There was a good attendance in the evening when the final games for the season were played. Mr. Priddle thanked one and all fpr their support during the season and invited those present to be his guests for the evening. The following trophies won during the season were presented:—The Interclub Shield was won by the Hataitax rink, Riddell, Bell, Donald, and McWhannell. The shield will be held by the club for twelve months and the individual members receive a miniature. The House Cup was won by the Ideal Dairy (Petone), Elvines, Urwin, Campbell, and Caley, who each receive a miniature cup. The Saturday badges went to Elias, Forsyth, Stdnebanks, and F. Ross, who had four wins, the greatest number of wins during the season. The midweek ferns were won by Fownes, Langdon, Hastings, and Conder, who hold them until next year. Mr. F. Ross, on behalf of the bowlers, spoke in praise of the green and the enjoyment derived during the winter months. _ ~,, Mr. Moult presented Mrs. Priddle with a crystal bowl and Mrs. Priddle returned thanks. Urquhart, Gibson, Duncan, McCune, 10; Elias, Forsyth, Gtonebanks, F. Ross 10. Foster, Kershaw, Riddell, Johnson, 16; Robson, Wilson, Donald, McWhannell 16.
