BROOKLYN BRANCH

A meeting of the Brooklyn branch of the League of Mothers was held in the Methodist Schoolroom.

Mrs. J. W. Jones presided over a good attendance of members and visitors. One member was transferred from Island Bay.

Mrs. G. L. Stewart gave a talk on the power of the spoken word —the great part that it played in our daily life, how it was used for good or evil; how unthinkingly we sometimes use words without realising the misery they may entail.

The rendering of two songs by Mrs. Sims was much appreciated. Afternoon tea was served, and after reading the thought for the month, "All of us are going to do better tomorrow, we would too, if only we began today," the meeting closed with the Benediction.
