DEMOCRACY OR SOCIALISM?

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

DUNEDIN, This Day,

The local National Party campaign was opened last night by Mr. G. W. J. Meade, candidate for Dunedin Central, who was given a rousing ovation.

He stated that the whole issue was were they going to maintain a true democracy or submit to Socialism. Labour had been very dictatorial, and control of its legislation had been vested with one or two Ministers. Moreover, Labour would not heed skilled advice, an example being guaranteed prices, where expert advice had been coldly ignored. The Government was going on its own determined way.

A vote of thanks and confidence was accorded.
