PIGS, POULTRY, AND PRODUCE.
The Dominion Auctioneering Company, Ltd., Palmerston North, reports another large yarding of pigs at their weekly sale on Thursday, prices being easier on realisations secured during the past few weeks. Good porkers sold from £2 to £2 14s. A very large yarding of poultry, however, was very keenly sought after, resulting in a slight increase in value of all lines, prime heavy hens selling up to 11s per pair. There is still a keen demand for all classes of green vegetables, but a slight decline in the prices of apples. Pigs.—Best weaners, from 20s to 25s 6d; small weaners. 15s to 19s; slips, from 21s to 275; stores, from 25s 6d to 28s; light porkers, to 395; prime porkers, from £2 to £2 14s. Poultry.—Best W.L. hens, from 9s to 10s per. pair; heavy 8.0. hens, from 10s to 11s per pair; light hens, from 7s to 8s per pair; prime cockerels, from 8s to 9s per pair; ducks, from 7s to 8s per pair; hens and chicks, to 15s; turkey gobblers, to 10s each; turkey hens, to 8s 6d each. . , Produce. —Cool-storage apples: Delicious from 6s 6d to 7s 6d, Rome Beauty from 5s 6d to 6s 6d, Statesman from 6s to 7s 6d, Stunners from 5s to 7s 6d, Ballarats from 5s to 7s, Dougherty's from 5s 6d to 6s 6d, orchard apples from 3s 6d to 5s per case; cauliflowers, from 10s to 14s per bag; spring cabbage, from 4s to 7s 3d per case Savoys from 8s to 10s per. bag; celery, from 15s to 16s 6d per case; beetroot, from 2s 6d to 3s 6d per case; marrows, from 4s to 5s 6d per case; oumpkins, to 19s per bag; lettuce, from 2s to 9s per case; rhubarb, from 8s to 10s per dozen; carrots, 2s to 3s 6d per case- parsnips, from 8s to 10s per case; leeks, from 10s to 12s 6d per case; swedes, from 4s to 5s per bag; kumeras, to 17s 6d cwt; potatoes. 3s to 6s cwt.
