(By Air Mall, from "The Post's" London Representative.)
LONDON, August 15.
Miss McGregor Acheson, whose father is a member of the New Zealand Judiciary, is attending t the Scottish Summer School of Country Dancing at St. Andrews. Her intention is to introduce Scottish country dances to Maori children whom she described in an interview in Scotland to be particularly responsive to anything musical. According to "The Scotsman," Miss Acheson said: "The Maori people have been fired with a national consciousness. A highly-intelligent race who have adapted themselves to modern conditions, at the same time they try to keep alive their own national characteristics. The children attend school, and they have an opportunity of continuing their education at the ordinary university. I have found them a very pleasant, honest people, the most trustworthy in the world." Miss Acheson would like to see more Scots in New Zealand. Capital, however, is required by anyone who wishes to settle in the country. Other nations forming strong colonies in New Zealand included Greeks, Italians, Dalmatians, and Chines*.
