DENTAL CONFERENCE
(From "The Post's" Representative.) WANGANUI, September 6.
Nearly 100 visitors, dentists, and their wives are in Wanganui for. the Dental Conference which opened in the Collegiate School on Monday morning. While their husbands are conferring, many social engagements have been arranged for the wives. On Monday, at 5 o'clock, both dentists and wives met for a social hour at the president's home, Mr. A. H. Boyes, Selwyn Street. Mrs. Boyes was wearing a smart suit of black and white. Thej floral decorations of prunus, cherry blossom, and other spring flowers were much admired. In the evening several keen contract bridge players were the guests of the Wanganui Women's Club, and a number joined a picture party. • On Tuesday afternoon Mrs. J. H. Stanchon, Waverley,- was hostess at a bridge party at the D.I.C. and Mrs. Frank Jacobs was hostess at bridge at her home in the evening. ' {' . Waimarino Golf Ball. The outstanding social event of the year at Raetihi was the Waimarino Golf Club Ball last Friday night. Over 200 dancers were present, and the decorations were most effective and unusual. The orchestra occupied a "cave" with icicles hanging from the roof. The greenery., was liberally powdered with snow, and the monogram of the club twinkled from shields. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Fell, of St. George's School, are visiting Christchurch. , Mrs. G. V. Pearce has returned to Wellington from Patea.
