Winds.—Southerly to south-easterly; moderate to strong generally and of gale force in some exposed positions, more especially about Cook Strait. Decreasing rapidly" tomorrow.
Seas.—Slight to moderate. south of Farewell Spit; moderate to rather rough north of East Cape; elsewhere rough, but decreasing tomorrow.
Weather.—Fine on the west coast of the South Island; elsewhere still unsettled with further rain and heavy at times in eastern districts from Canterbury northwards. ' Snow on the ranges. Improving rapidly tomorrow morning. Temperatures cold. ;
