OBITUARY

(By Telegraph — Press Association.) TIMARU, September 2. The death occurred on Thursday of Constable Daniel . Joseph Callanan, who had been in charge of the Geraldine Police" Station for more than 20 years.

Constable Callanan, who was in his fifty-eighth year, took a keen interest in all sport; and two of his sons were Rugby representativp players. He joined the force in Dunedin, and was later. stationed in Invercargill, Queenstown, and Nightcaps.
