CABLING ROUND WORLD

(British Official Wireless.) (Received August 27, 11.15 a.m.) RUGBY, August 23. The most ambitious cable transmission ever undertaken was initiated by the Secretary for the Dominions (Lord Stanley) in opening the Canadian National Exhibition. His message round the world was returned to him with five replies within four minutes of its dispatch. The message travelled 51,165 miles, of which 44,277 miles was by cable and'6B3B by landline.
