A SURFACING VIBRATOR

Vibratory massage has migrated from the beauty parlour to roads. The application is in connection with the packing of concrete aggregates, the vibratory treatment being claimed to pack them more closely and give a firmer, stronger surface. In a demonstration at Richmond (London) on a resurfacing job granite of l§in guage was spread on top of the mixed levelled concrete and consolidated with the vibrator. No rolling was done. The result, it is claimed, is a better wearing surface and one which allows of traffic much sooner after the laying.
