Sir Alfred Zimmern and Lady .Zimmern, who paid a brief visit to .Wellington, left last night for Auckland. Sir Alfred, who is Montague Burton Professor of International Relations at Oxford University and Director of the Geneva School of International Studies, is one of the delegates en route to the British Commonwealth Relations Conference in Australia. ■ When addressing the members of the English-speaking Union yesterday afternoon, Lady Zimmern said she was sorry their stay in New Zealand had been so short. Lady Zimmern was born and brought up in France, and she said that the British passport was the only one she would have exchanged for her French birthright.
