RELIGIOUS SERVICES. LECTURE ON BIBLE TRUTH (God Willing) J 0.0. F. HALL, ALLEN STREET. (Opp. Paramount, Courtenay Place). SUNDAY at 7 p.m. Subject: "WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?" ■ "AND THEY SAID, BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND THOU SHALT BE SAVED." (Acts 16:30-31). The object of this lecture is to show that a belief in the Lord Jesus Christ necessitates an unqualified acceptance of Christ's teaching. Therefore as Christ said, "He that believeth the Gospel and is baptised shall be saved" (Mark 16:15-16) it follows that any person truly believing in the Lord Jesus Christ must believe that salvation cannot be received (1) UNLESS THE GOSPEL IS BELIEVED i.e. the Gospel Christ taught, "The Gospel of the Kingdom of God" :—"the good news" of Christ's second coming to set up a universal Kingdom of God upon earth, thereby creating j "Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." (Roms. 1:16, 1 Cor. 15:1-2, Matt. 4:23, Matt. 9:35, Luke 8:1, Luke 4:43, Luke 9:2 and 6, 2 Tim. 4:1, Acts 1:11, Acts. 3:19-21. Matt. 6:10, Rev. 11:15, Acts 17:31, Zech. 14:9. Psa. 67:4, Psa. 72, Isa. 2. Isa. 11, Luke 2:13-14, etc.) (2) UNLESS BELIEF OF THE GOSPEL IS FOLLOWED BY BAPTISM, i.e., bodily immersion in water (Matt. 3:16, Acts 8:37-39, Acts 8:12, Acts 18:8) as the only God-appointed way whereby a believer of the Gospel can receive a "remission of sins" (Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16) put off Adam and "put on Christ" (Gals. 3:27-29, 1 Cor. 15:22) be "born again ... of water" (John 3:2-7) and rise to "walk in newness ■ of life." (Roms. 6:4. 2 Cor. 5:17.) "THOUGH WE, OR AN ANGEL OF HEAVEN (OR ANY MAN) PREACH ANY OTHER GOSPEL UNTO YOU THAN THAT WHICH WE HAVE PREACHED UNTO YOU LET HIM BE ACCURSED." (Paul-Gals. 1:8-9).
