The Berlin correspondent of "The Times" says it is very, clear that as a result of the diplomatic conversations with Admiral Horthy, the ground has been prepared for the closest co-operation between Germany and Hungary in many fields. A more concrete result of Admiral Horthy's visit may become manifest if Herr Funk, German Minister of Economics, goes to Budapest in September. The economic importance of Herr Funk's proposed visit to the Balkans is emphasised, the correspondent states. Newspapers declare that trade policy will be based on barter foundations in a new Central European economic zone which corresponds to the natural unity of the Danube basin. There is no doubt that Central Europe forms a natural economic area in which France and Britain have not the slightest hope of "playing a game with golden bullets."
