(Received August 26, 9 a.m.)

SYDNEY, August 25

A week's drenching rain has ensured two years' water supply for the metropolitan area, resulting in the lifting of water restrictions.

Flooding is reported from several areas and along the Nepean River, 30 miles south of Sydney, where residents have been warned to move to higher ground. Splendid rains are reported in all the wheat and pastoral areas throughout the State.
