WRESTLING
POLICE STEP IN
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
DUNEDIN, August 20
Pat Fraley and Dick Raines wrestled a torrid bout on Saturday night, providing the crowd with a thrilling climax.
The pleasantries of these two strong men came to a head in the sixth round. Up to that stage Fraley was a fall to the good but when he attempted to throw Raines out of the ring the referee intervened, only to be ignored. It seemed that a penalty fall to Raines would be the outcome, but Fraley was really annoyed by this time and the pair slogged away at. each other all over . and around the unfortunate referee. Then Raines seized a chair which gyrated between the two until a sergeant and two constables decided that matters had gone far enough and put an end to the bout.
Before escaping from the ring, the referee gave the decision to Rames— at least that appeared to be the upshot of the whole affair.
