TECHNICAL V. WESLEY

The match between Technical and Wesley, at Karori Park, was by no means spectacular, indeed in the early stages it was almost uninteresting, but nevertheless it was a .very clean, attractive exhibition which would have been better had the ground been smoother. Wesley was a shade more successful at the outset, and had several chances from corners, but lack of combination and bunching in the circle, with hurried shots, cost them many scoring opportunities. McDonald opened the scoring for Technical, netting after T. Garbett had taken the ball down the right wing, and centred nicely. Garbett added another, score within the next two minutes. Wesley rallied for a time, but Technical again broke away, and would have scored but for a series of good kicks by M. Watson, in goal for Wesley. Bade, Wesley left back, was solid on defence. In the closing stages of the game play was very open, and although Wesley repeatedly penetrated to the Technical circle, they were seldom allowed to remain there long. Wesley had more of the play in the second half, but could not score, and the game ended with the score: Technical 2, Wesley 0.

Messrs. W. Jenkinson and C. P. McKenzie were the umpires.
