FALL FROM BRIDGE
RAILWAY PORTER KILLED

James. Campbell Sharp, aged 35, a tablet porter at Taringamotu Railway Station, was killed early on Sunday morning. The deceased attended a private party in Taumarunui until L3O sun., and apparently set out, for his home at Taringamotu, walking along the railway line. When crossing a railway bridge with parcels in his arms '
he tripped and fell 30 feet, striking'an obstructing" post with his head> Two boys crossing the bridge at 7 o'cloclc on Sunday morning saw a man's hat and then Sharp standing in the creek with a hand to his head. They became frightened and went on to church at .Taumarunui. Returning later they reported the matter to their father, who went to the spot and found Sharp lying iace down in three feet of water. The deceased's parents reside in Duriedin. An inquest was opened sti* adjourned. ''
