TRAMWAYS DISPUTE

MAYOR'S STATEMENT

MEETINGS OF UNION

The statement made by the Mayor (Mr. T. C. A. Hislop) relative to the matters in dispute between the Wellington Tramways Union and the City Council, and which appeared in "The Post" on Saturday, was considered at a meeting of the Tramways Union, in the Trades Hall, today.

The meeting was largely attended, practically all tramwaymen off duty being present. At the conclusion of the meeting, which lasted three hours, no official statement was made, but it was stated that there would be a second meeting this evening.
