INTERMEDIATE SCHOOLS
Valuable service has been rendered by Dr. C. E. Beeby by his analysis of New Zealand's intermediate school system. _ The results of this painstaking analysis, together with a number of recdmmendations, have been published by the New Zealand Council for Educational Research under the title of "The Intermediate Schools of New Zealand." Dr. Beeby reviews the history of the intermediate school movement, and the internal organisation and external relations of such schools. He approves of them, and recommends that the system be continued and §xtended and would ,like to have them called Junior High S«hools. His survey is a model of concise presentation of fact, with valuable appendices, and for all who are interested in the Dominion's educational system this book will be invaluable.
