PRICES INCREASE

AUSTRALIAN COSMETICS

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) • DUNEDIN, This Day. An increase, ranging from 5 to 40 per cent., in the retail prices of Australian cosmetics and toilet requisites because of New Zealand's tariff revision in April has occurred. Australia provides a large proportion of the Dominion's requirements and about twenty lines in general use are affected. New Zealand cosmetics and toilet requisites are restricted to about seven lines, one chemist said, so .the tariff would not assist local manufacturers.
