LAMB IN FAIR DEMAND
The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following advice from its London office as at close of business this week: —There is only a poor demand for wethers and larger supplies have caused prices to weaken. The market for ewes is quiet and unchanged. There is a fair demand for lambs. The market is weaker for second quality but first grades remain steady. There is a fair demand for chilled beef. Wethers, light 5d to s|d per lb, heavy 4|d to 4Jd; ewes, 2 7-8 dto 4d; lambs, 2's 7 3-8 dto 7sd, B's 7 3-8 dto 7Jd, 4's 7*d to 7 3-Bd, seconds 7d to 7 l-8d; chilled, hinds 5Jd to sld, fores 3Jd to 3Jd.
