LEVIN SALE.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report that go6d yardings of slieep and cattle and a small entry of pigs were offered at the Levin yards on Tuesday. Pork and store pigs were in short supply, and prices were $rm on a par with last week's higher values, while sheep showed little variation, sales generally being on a level with present quotations. Prime heifer and ox beef met ■with a ready sale in the fat cattle section, and for the better quality stock a sharp rise was recorded. The; small yarding of dairy cattle offered was of indifferent -quality and competition was dull. Quotations:— nx Pigs: Light porkers, £2 -to £2 3s; medium, £2 15s to £2 17s; heavy, £3 to £3 12s 6d; stores,; 21s to 23s 6d. Sheep: Light fat ewes, 14s to 15s 2d; fat hoggets, 21s 7d; store ewes in poor condition, 4s 7d. Cattle: Fat cattle, ex dairy, light, £3 7s 6d to £4; medium, £4 10s to £5 ss; heavy, £6 to £8 ss; prime heifers, £6 17s 6d to £8 15s; store cows, £2 to £3 7s 6d; weaner heifers, £2 14s. . ■• T .; Abraham and Williams, Ltd., had sales at the following prices:— Pigs- Light porkers, 30s 6d to 36s 6d; medium, £2 4s to £2 ss; heavy, £3 2s to £3 8s; stores, 16s. Sheep: Fat ewes, 13s 3d to 17s; fat wethers, 18s to 225; fat hoggets, 20s 9d to 21s 6d; 2-tooth b.i. ewes, 245; store hoggets, 9s 6d to 12s. Cattle: Fat cows, light, £3 17s 6d to £4 2s Sd; medium, £4 15s to £5 2s 6d; heayy, £5 15s to £7; fat heifers, £5 2s 6d to £7 2s 6d; prime P.A. bullocks, £10 10s; runners, £3 15s to £4; vealers: £2 7s 6d to £3; store cows, £2 5s to £2 19s; yearling heifers, 39s to 465.
