SWIMMING RECORDS
(Received July 4, 1 p.m.) COPENHAGEN, July 3. Miss Ragneld Hveger achieved th« world's free-style swimming records for the mile, 23min ll£sec, and 1500 metres, 21min 45 7-10 sec.
The previous record for the mile was 24min 44 2-ssec, established by Miss Helen Madison (U.S.A.) in 1931, and the 1500 metres record was 22min 36 7-10 sec, established by Miss G. Fredericksen (Denmark) in 1936.
