Y.W.C.A.

A NEW IDEA

Once again the tinkle of tea cups accompanied the birth of a new idea when representative girls from various manufacturing firms in the city met at the Y.W.C.A. to make plans for a new type of girls' club. The new club will usher in the era of .five-a-side basketball in Wellington, and will also provide facilities for girls to learn new arts and crafts.

A committee was set up to make plans for the - opening night of the club on July 6, and if the enthusiasm displayed by those who accepted the first invitation to have tea together is any indication of the interest of the girls as a whole, then the success of the club is assured, and it will cerr tainly make a vital contribution to the leisure pursuits of the community.
