AN ATTRACTIVE WEDDING

NELSON, June 30,

The wedding of Miss Kathleen Wallace, eldest daughter of. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Wallace to Mr. Humphrey Hair, of Marton, took place in Nelson Cathedral on Wednesday evening. The Dean of Nelson officiated, and the bride, who was attended by her sister, Miss Winifred Wallace, and Miss Enga Washbourn, wore a charming cream and gold charmeuse frock. Afterwards i Mr. and Mrs. Wallace were "at home"! to their guests at their home in Kawai j Street, where dancing continued until a late hour. An Entertaining Evening. The Nelson Repertory Club was congratulated on its initial effort in producing one-act plays. The object is to bring out latent talent in both acting and production, and judging by the reception given by a crowded house, the project appealed to those interested in dramatic art. Two one-act plays by A. A. Mtjne were produced by Mesdames Earle Johnston, A. S. G. Adam, W. J. Forsyth, and Miss Margaret Jeff- j ries. Those taking part were Mes- j dames A. Adam, E. Johnston, H. J. Addis, the Misses J. Baxter, D. Brent, P. Greenwood, B. Walter, A. Wearing, J. Wallace, and Messrs. J. W. Russell, C. W. Cannington, W. D. Williams, G. W. Wade, C. J. Dv Flou, A. M. Squires, F. G. Twiss, F. W. Huggins, D. Fowler, J. M. Horrack, H. J. Addis, A. L. Tressider, and G. A. Hoby.

Sir Thomaa and Lady Easterfield and Miss B. Easterfield entertained a few friends at coffee and afterwards at the Repertory Club's entertainment on Tuesday evening. Among the guests were Dr. and Mrs. J. P. S. Jamieson, Dr. and Mrs. W. D. S. Johnston, Miss Jamieson, Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Beattie, and Dr Curtis.
