Anglo-french Warning
LANDING ON HAINAN ISLAND

- The Japanese Press < denies that Japan has received a warning from Britain and France against landing on Hainan Island, and state that the British and French Ambassadors merely called on the Foreign Minister and inquired whether Japan intended to occupy the island.
According to a London message on June 27, the Under-Secretary of Foreign Affairs announted in the Hfcnue of Commons that England and France had warned Japan that occupatianof Hainan Island would be likely to lead to undesirable complications and that in the event of such ah incident they would no doubt collaborate as was necessary. It -was stated that the warning not only concerned Hainan Tfimwi but also other Chinese Islands in ttie vicinity of Hong Kong and Indochina.
