STATE HOUSES
CONTRACTS APPROVED
! Housing contracts approved by Cabinet were announced yesterday by the [Parliamentary Under-Secretary in Charge of Housing (Mr. J. A. Lee). They are as follows:—
Cambridge.—Nine houses, Speight Pearce, Nicoll and Davys, Ltd. '
Christchurch.—Seven houses, Mr. Wm. Brunt; five houses, Mr. W. H. Smith; 10 houses, J. J. Construction Co., Ltd. All contracts secured are for the erection of the houses on the Stringer and Rudkin Estates.
Kaitaia.—Mr. G. Bonnett has secured a contract for the construction of roads and stormwater drainage on the housing block.
The following land purchases have also been approved:—
[ Wellington.—An area in Totara and Nevay Roads, Miramar, sufficient for 18 houses.
Waimate.—Areas in Queen and Dash Streets, sufficient for five houses.
