Today's instalment of Miss Jean Batten's autobiography will be found on page 5. 59999999999909999999909999 scholars; they will be given special recommendations for obtaining suitable commercial appointments and their business careers will be watched with special interest, guidance being available if requested. The syllabus has been widened to include English composition. A separate paper will in future be devoted to handwriting, formerly included under the heading of "office practice." The reason is that there are openings for juniors who, without any office experience, are able to .write a good hand. In the past the fastest shorthand test has been 160 words a minute; in [future tests at higher speeds will be held if there are sufficient candidates.
