RUGBY LEAGUE TOUR
NO PROSPECT OF TEST CERTAINTY OF A PROFIT BRISBANE, June 27. Extending their Brisbane visit, the New Zealand Rugby League team had a run today prior to their departure tomorrow for the next match against Tamworth. The manager, Mr. Redwood, announced that there was no possibility now of any Test being played, although the team, despite defeats, has left a good impression after Saturday's match against Queensland. It was revealed today that Grotte was handicapped throughout Saturday's game by an injured hand following a kick. His hand was bruised and swollen today, and he will probably not be available for Wednesday. Gault has now left hospital, but his torn hip muscle will prevent his playing again on the tour. Tetley, with sprained sinews in his right knee muscles, will also not play again here. With matches at Tamworth, Newcastle, and Sydney still to play, the Kiwis should make a complete financial success of their tour. Gate receipts at Brisbane on Saturday of £474 brought their share of the gate to £2100. __________
