Debat» | ine Club were recently entertained to a series of prepared speeches, or oraI tions contributed by the members; The speakers, with their selections/; were as follows:-.!. White ("Touring in the South Island"); C. Spratt {"Shakespeare"): G. Oliver ("The Distinction Between Public and Private Expenditure"): I. Davey ("Lost in the Tararuas")- S. Keruse ("International Trade in Ancient Days"); R. Powell, ("Free Speech"); R. Norwood ("Warfare and its Weapons Through tne Ages"). Next week, all members and iriends are invited to attend an intersociety debate between the Law Students' Association and.the Y.M.C.A. Debating Club. The Y.M.C.A..Ciub will be represented by Messrs. V. Jones, B. Norwood. and'N. Glover.
