A large number of people spent, a very enjoyable time in the Brougham Street Hall on Thursday night, when Messrs. A. S. Paterson and Co. held a staff dance. Yellow Iceland poppies were used for decoration in the hall and in the. supper room, and a splendid dance band put everyone in a dancing mood. Mr. Alan Shand played the extras. ' ,
The chaperons /wtere Mrs. S. Paterson, who ;was- dressed in navy spotted net; Mrs. G. -G. 1 Shirtcliffe, who wore i flowered silk pique! and Mrs. F. Wilson, who was. wearing black lace. The committee, responsible for this pleasant'and successful function were Missr Phyllis Breeze (who wore clover velvet), Miss Shirley Cometti (turquoise green georgette), and Messrs. Longuet, Minifie, and Moncrieff. A Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss G. McDonald and Mr. J. Jenkins, and the ."lucky spot",by Mr. and Mrs. H. Pearce. The two ladies' prizes were provided >y> ; Mr. R.
