HOPES FOR RELEASE

GOTTFRIED VON CRAMM (Received June 20, 10.40 a.m.) LONDON, June 19. Rumours in circulation in Berlin and Paris that Gottfried von- Cramm, the German tennis player who was recently sentenced to a term of imprisonment, died in prison are Officially denied. A "member of his family states that Cramm is in good health and that his mother has seen him in prison twice. It is hoped that he will receive a pardon soon, following a request to Herr Hitler from sportsmen and other influential people.
