Despite the greasy ground at Naenae Huia (1) combined too" well for Hutt ■ and succeeded in gaining a, fivegoal victory. Hutt fought strongly rieht to the finish, but ■, were unable to penetrate the soitnd Huia defence. Goals by R. Brown, M.-Cotter, and M. Dentice gave Huia a 3-nil lead at halftime. . Hutt in the second spell played stubbornly, but splendid work by Marshall, the Huia goalkeeper, who saved time after time, prevented them from scoring. Huia's fourth goal was scored by Cotter. Hutt then initiated a hard attack and G. Bullejj, left-wing, succeeded in netting their only goal. A short shot by M. Dentice, after a melee near the goal-mouth, gave Huia their fifth goal, and Brown scored another later, making 'the final score: Huia (1) 6, Hutt 1. . Messrs. C. P. McKenzie and R. Gardiner were the umpires.
