YACHTSMEN ENTERTAIN
ENJOYABLE KIOSK DANCE
A most enjoyable dance was held x at the Kelburn Kiosk by the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club on Saturday night, there being a large attendance of members and friends. The hall, with its brightly-coloured tables and Chinese lanterns, presented a gay appearance, while through the broad verandah windows the twinkling lights of Wellington were seen, made hazy at times by the driving rain. A delicious savoury supper was served. The committee responsible for the arrangements comprised Messrs. C. D. A. Highet, L. Toms, B. J. Tonks, I. Watkin, P. Stannard.
LEVIN MEMORIAL HOME Miss Archibald presided at a meeting of the Levin Memorial Home com-! mittee. The matron reported that all the children were well, and that the ambulance cadet division had again started training under Mrs, J. McWhannell. The committee thanked Miss Osborn for her good work in training the children in the past. Mrs. Eric Luke's jumble sale enabled the. purchase of a new sewing machine which was proving a boon to the work of the Home. The committee -thanked thp following donors: —Miss Chalmers, St Mary* School, Stratford, Mr. Yates (weekly donation), Mr. Elliott, Mrs. Rutherford, Mrs. Du Pont, and Mrs. T. p. Hanna.
