TRUCK DERAILED

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) OAMARU, This Day. A truck of a mixed train arriving at Oamaru shortly after 9 o'clock this morning left the rails 100 yards west of Thames Street and was , dragged across the level crossing, damaging the asphalt. There was no other damage except to a few sleepers. The engine and the first truck were on a viaduct across Oamaru Creek before the train stopped. It was the second truck that left the rails. An inspection of the permanent way revealed no fault. Had the train proceeded a chain further there probably would have been a serious crash.
