DEFENCE PLANS
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —Much criticism has been levelled at the present Government because of its alleged inactivity with regard to the defence question. Of course the farmers seem to consider themselves competent to throw light on any subject. However, the Hon. F. Jones most ably replied to these and the criticism by the colonels and also announced his Air Force plans. There is no doubt that his plans as announced, are encouraging. People are all too quick to forward destructive criticism, but all too slow to acknowledge satisfaction. Even a casual observation reveals the saneness of the Minister's proposals, and precision-like preparations to put his proposals into effect. He is overcoming some of the National leeway legacy. Regarding today's display at Rongotai, those responsible are to be congratulated on their enterprise. They are following good examples in the R AF. displays at Hendon.—l am, etc., AIRMAN.
