SAFE STOLEN

WEEKEND TAKINGS (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WHAKATANE, This Day. Burglars entered the general store of the Farmers' Trading Company, Main Street, Whakatane, some time between closing time on Saturday and the resumption of business this morning and removed bodily a safe containing the weekend takings, estimated at between £150 and £200. The firm's books are also missing. Entrance was effected by- forcing the back door. Apparently nothing else in the shop was taken and there was no sign of a disturbance.
