AUCKLAND-LONDON
A FAST TRIP Thirteen days is the time that two well-known Wellington business men, Messrs. F. V. Lysons and W. Higgins, expect to take on a journey from Auckland to London. Anxious, for business reasons, to reach London as soon as possible, they are travelling from Auckland to Sydney by the Awatea and by Qantas and Imperial Airways from Australia to England. They expect to be in London on the afternoon of May 22, thirteen days after leaving New Zealand. Mr. Lysons, managing director of Lysons Limited, served in the Flying Corps during the war and has had a considerable amount of aviation experience. Mr. Higgins is managing director of the Empire Printing and Box Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and is well known in sporting circles. He is a steward of the Wellington Racing Club. Both men left Wellington by the Limited express for Auckland last night to join the Awatea, which sails tonight. Arriving at Sydney on Thursday they will leave on the same day by Empire Air Lines of Australia for Brisbane, where they will connect with Qantas Empire Airways, leaving on Friday for Cloncurry on the first stage of the flight to London. From Cloncurry they will go to Darwin, Sourabaya, and Singapore, where they will embark on an Imperial Airways plane. The final hop from Bracciano to London is scheduled for Sunday, May 22.
